Using the Home Maintenance Schedule to perform preventative home maintenance on a regular schedule is one of the best ways to protect your investment in your home. Just a short checklist of items that are done every month, every six months, semiannually, or annually, and you're ready to go.

Scheduled maintenance
The Home Maintenance Schedule is intuitive and easy to use. For example, your HVAC's air filters need to be changed monthly. When you replace the air filter, just type the date that you did it into the white box next to "Air Filters" under the "Monthly or As Needed" header. Once you've entered the date you performed the maintenance, the gold box to the right will tell you the next time this maintenance needs to be done.

Maintenance overdue
What if you forget to perform preventative maintenance on time? Simple — the gold box with the due date turns from gold to red, reminding you that this maintenance item is overdue. Do the work, update the white box, and it will once again tell you the next due date.

I downloaded several of your spreadsheets but they turned out to be read only, which obviously isn't very helpful. Did I do something wrong? How can I get or make them useable?
