Home Maintenance Schedule Spreadsheet
Using the Home Maintenance Schedule to perform preventative home maintenance on a regular schedule is one of the best ways to protect your investment in your home. Just a short checklist of items that are done every month, every six months, semiannually, or annually, and you’re ready to go.
The Home Maintenance Schedule is intuitive and easy to use. For example, your HVAC’s air filters need to be changed monthly. When you replace the air filter, just type the date that you did it into the white box next to “Air Filters” under the “Monthly or As Needed” header. Once you’ve entered the date you performed the maintenance, the gold box to the right will tell you the next time this maintenance needs to be done. What if you forget to perform preventative maintenance on time? Simple — the gold box with the due date turns from gold to red, reminding you that this maintenance item is overdue. Do the work, update the white box, and it will once again tell you the next due date.If you have any ideas for how the Home Maintenance Schedule could be improved, or suggestions for maintenance that ought to be included, please leave a comment below.

I downloaded several of your spreadsheets but they turned out to be read only, which obviously isn’t very helpful. Did I do something wrong? How can I get or make them useable?
Hi lisa,
I downloaded the documents as read only too. All you need to do, to convert them to normal documents is select “Save As”, and re save the document in whatever format you prefer eg. Excel 97-2003 Workbook OR Excel Workbook.
Then you will be able to modify and add to the document to your meet preferences.

Just realised you made that comment in 2009! Not sure it is relevant for you anymore
What a handy resource! Thanks for sharing these. Home maintenance should indeed be a priority. Not only will it help ensure that your home will continue to be a sound investment, but it will also help ensure the well-being of the home’s residents. Nothing beats being sure that a beam or two won’t come crashing down in the middle of the night!
Home maintenance needs a regular check on each and everything, and a home owner should be aware of even the minor breakdowns, which might result in big loses if they are not attended.
Home maintenance is like my car, i fix one thing, then another thing goes wrong. but like the above comment, it is better to sort out the small problems.
Thanks guys for a great resource
Thanks for the info guys. I do regular maintenance all the time so i can preserve the value of my house.
Great idea this. Home maintenance should be a priority for all homeowners. The schedule spreadsheet is great for keeping up to date with things that require checking. This would be perfect for some people. Like anything of course, there will always be some people who are just too lazy to actually do the maintenance when it is scheduled.
Stumbled on this page while I was searching for tips to maintaining a home so that you can keep your yearly insurance costs at the lowest. Perfect spread sheet manual for each homeowner making me to link my site how-much-is-homeowners-insurance.com to this page so that my visitors can find this valuable page very easily too.
