Military insurance discount?

My exuberance over the military discounts I received during the recent trip to Virginia led me to ask, "Well, where else can I get a military discount?" So, I looked at my insurance rates.

I am insured through USAA, which caters especially to military members, so I thought that surely I would get a military discount from them. I'm sorry to say I was wrong. The response to my email to USAA stated that California (where I live) law doesn't allow for military insurance discounts. Bummer!

I'll keep trying, though. Maybe there's a cable TV military discount…
