Money-saving tip: Coupons, every time, everywhere

You've probably heard this other places, especially if you're an old hand at the personal finance blog scene, but if not, let me be the first to tell you:

You can get coupons for nearly anything. You can get them online if you can't find them in your newspaper. Example: my wife and I had a hankering for some pizza a couple weeks ago, the new Wombo Combo from Round Table. Just on a lark, I asked my wife to look for a coupon online, and sure enough, we saved $3.00 on that pizza.

Another example (and one for which I could kick myself): We went to Red Lobster this evening, after feeling really cooped up. We got the Endless Shrimp platter, which is $15.99 a person. We could have gotten a free dessert of appetizer with the order of two entrees, but like a lame brain, I forgot to check the 'net for a coupon until after we got back from the restaurant.

My point is, even if you're spending a load of money on dinner, you could get more for your money or you could save a few bucks. Coupons are our friends. Now, could somebody please remind me of that before I dine out next time?
