Updated Millionaire Calculator spreadsheet

This is just a repost for those of you who downloaded the Millionaire Calculator spreadsheet. There was an error in the spreadsheet that gave the incorrect date for achieving millionairehood. I've corrected the mistake, so if you downloaded a copy already, get the updated version. If you haven't downloaded the Millionaire Calculator already, give it a try, and find out just when you'll be a millionaire.

For those newcomers to An Uncommon Way to Wealth, feel free to try the following personal finance spreadsheets:

Master Information spreadsheet for storing important information, such as credit card account information or bank routing numbers (very handy when you're setting up transfers between accounts).

Grocery Savings spreadsheet (also known as a price book) for saving money on groceries by tracking your historical cost for the items you buy.

"Cup o' Joe Factor" spreadsheet that shows you how much your habitual purchases are costing you (also known as David Bach's Latte Factor®).

The grocery spreadsheet is one of the most beautiful, elegant things I've ever seen and I am SO excited to have found it. I even suggested it to a bunch of my online buddies in this post:http://www.dealagogo.com/showthread.php?t=25748 and they were excited too!

The one thing that I can't figure out is why I can't sort the list. Of course, sorting is vital to any grocery spreadsheet, so I'm sure it can be done with this one. Any hints for the determined individual who has been reading Excel help files for two hours and has at last decided to pester you once more? Thanks!

Heidi,

Thanks so much for the praise. I have fun making Excel spreadsheets, and would love some suggestions for spreadsheets that you'd like to see.

I've corrected the problem so that you can now sort fairly easily. I had the spreadsheet protected, so users wouldn't inadvertently change things that shouldn't be changed, and that kept it from being sortable.

Anyway, sorry for causing you to spend two hours of your life trying to solve a problem I created. Please feel free to use any of the spreadsheets I've made, and to pass them along to all of your friends. All I ask is that the link to my website remain in the spreadsheet.

You are TOPS! Thanks so much! And you even added the stores! Did you just decide to do that or did you see the comment on DAGG?

I also love Excel, though I'm nowhere near as skilled as you are. I've never taken any classes or anything, so I just kind of muddle my way through tutorials and the help menu, all the while cursing the fates that made me decide to get a Master's in English instead of computers. LOL. If you happen to know of any great online or in print (what's that?) resources that would help me get better, let me know! Clearly you're proficient in it, so your suggestions would be valuable.

Meanwhile, I LOVE your blog AND your spreadsheets, so thanks for everything!

I added the stores after seeing the comments on DAGG. I hadn't thought of it before, but it seems like a good addition to a price book.

I pretty much picked up my Excel skills by trial and error, and looking at the formulas of other spreadsheets that did things I liked. "If you want to learn how to do something, take it apart," is how I tend to do things.

Thanks for the compliments. It makes this blog worthwhile.
